Real Guinea Pig Care
Unlimited hay — their teeth never stop growing, and hay keeps teeth and tummies healthy.
Fresh water daily — check the bottle isn't clogged or leaking.
Vitamin C every day — guinea pigs can't make their own! Bell peppers and leafy greens are great.
Clean cage — spot-clean daily, full clean weekly, or it can make them sick.
Gentle handling — sit on the floor, support their whole body, speak softly.
Floor time — daily exercise outside the cage (watch for wires and escapes!).
A buddy — guinea pigs are herd animals and are happiest in pairs.
Watch for signs — sneezing, scratching, or hiding a lot can mean a vet visit is needed.
